I read about The Bedford , which is a new chicago restaurant + bar located in an old bank vault. The picture was enough to sell me on at least going for a drink, but I have a reservation for Tuesday and I, and my stomach, are VERY enthusiastic.
It’s a bit of a chicago summer farewell dinner so I’m hoping everyone is down to share because there are a lot of things I want to try including, but not limited to: the heirloom tomato salad, venison sausage (I’m not usually a meat person but this looks amazing), and of course the grilled cheese. I also love cucumber cocktails so I already know I’m going to try the Cucumber Cooler.
I’ve been regretting not trying enough Chicago restaurants this summer while I have the time so hopefully this is worth the wait!

This Local Native’s Take Away Show mixes a bunch of my worlds nicely. I basically listened to Local Natives and nothing else for a month straight while I was in Paris- I probably would have passed out if I casually stumbled upon this.

I’m seeing them for the first time next week at Lollapalooza and super ‘cited!

How wonderfully wonderful are these Fiorentini+Baker boots? I understood the craze of the buckle boots but I think these are even better. Beyond basics, dark boots are my biggest necessity. They are just the most perfect item(s). I spotted these on the website of Chalk Boutique, a store in Evanston. I’ve only seen them on Net-a-Porter besides Chalk, but I would love a pair of boots like these (or these… le sigh) for fall/winter.
I generally find boots are one item I don’t feel bad spending a fair amount of money on because I always get so much wear out of them. For example, I’ve replaced the soles of my Frye Veronica Slouch at least twice and they need another before boot season starts again.

I spent this past fall in Paris living in the Marais. I’m feeling a bit nostalgic so I was going through some old photos. This one of La Durée is one of my personal favorites. What is more Parisian than these perfect little colorful macaroons? Also, I would give probably anything including a (small) limb to have L’As du Falafel right now.
Word on the street… La Durée is opening in NYC!

I recently began brewing my own iced coffee, which is super easy and delicious. I’ve been using beans from Crop To Cup that I bought at Chicago’s monthly Dose market (amazing food and fashion). I crush the beans in my own creative way- with a frying pan- and let them soak in water for 18-20 hours.

I’ve also been dying to make these super easy Mexican Coffee Popsicles BUT cannot for the life of me find popsicle molds (ok, I haven’t looked that hard). Basically I went to William Sonoma and they have a super hardcore $50 popsicle maker set, which I’m not down to buy. Once I get molds though, I will be making these pronto.

It almost- no, it does- feel too cliché to write a post about friendship bracelets. But, here it goes. As awesome as Dannijo makes them look, I could not bring myself to spend more than the 45 cents a spool that it costs for string on friendship bracelets. I went to all girls sleepaway camp for 8 years dammit, I can make a friendship bracelet!

My first attempt wasn’t the most beautiful in the world BUT they’ve been getting better especially as I stack more on. This isn’t another DIY blog, but as I’m only interning 2 days a week I do have a lot of time to, well, DIMyself. My next project is the Hex Nut Bracelet from Honestly WTF

Society 6 is my favorite website for any inexpensive posters, I have 3 in my room alone; 2 are lovely pieces by Valentina Ramos. The art is beautiful and always a little whimsical. I have a thing for superheroes and I’ve been loving the Danny Haas prints. I don’t have any yet but I’m thinking this could look sweet in my living room where we just finally took down this stupid canvas from Home Goods that my roommates and I had grown to loathe.

Tried this Vince Hooded Drape Coat on the other day and loved it! Not really liking the turtleneck they put it with here but I’m not really a turtleneck girl (always a little conscious it accentuates double chin action). My REAL love is this beautifully luscious Vince fur vest that I’ve already mentally made 20 outfits with… those will stay mental though. Again, unpaid internship blah blah blah.

Spotted these Miu Miu Fall 2011 shoes on one of my friends blogs and fell in love. Considering my life as an unpaid internship-loving college student won’t afford me them, this is the best I can do for now!
